The Game Deals Thread
This seemed like a logical topic considering the time of year. If you find any discounts on games that you feel are worth sharing (digital or retail), post them here. Even if you stumble across it at your local Wal-Mart, it's fair game (though internet sales are ideal for obvious reasons).
I'm not going to list every Steam Sale going on at the moment for obvious reason but here are a couple personal highlights:
Sonic Hits Collection - $30 - I actually bought this one for $15 a couple days ago, but considering you're getting 13 games (including three relatively recent retail-level ones) plus some downloadable content, it still warrants mentioning. Sonic Racing Transformed isn't even a year old and tends to go for at least $20-$30 solo.
Bastion - $2.24 - This one's a steal (even compared to the cheaper iPad version), but it expires in just a few hours. Act swiftly.

Re: The Game Deals Thread
Yeah, Bastion was an awesome game. Also? Nice idea, Midori. I'll keep this thread in mind going forward.
Re: The Game Deals Thread
Oh lord, if you haven't played Bastion before, for less than a cup of coffee you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't.
Great thread!
Great thread!

If you're in North America, Atlus has a sale on PS2 Classics going. Odin Sphere, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES, and Disgaea: Hour of Darkness are all $4.99 on PSN. All of those games are fairly meaty for a grand total of $15.

That's insane value. Disgaea alone is over 100 hours of gameplay. For $5? Insane.

Some very good games in that list. That being said, I keep hoping that the success of Persona 4 means one or several of these old Persona titles will land in some sort of an HD collection soon.

Don't buy Skyrim. There's an Elder Scrolls ultra box set coming with all five of them plus expansions for the price of one game. Far better value.
But yes, Frozen Synapse. If you haven't got that yet on either PC or iPad you're doing gaming wrong.
Re: The Game Deals Thread
Skyrim - Ultra Box set? What all is that going to include - and does it have a cost associated with it yet? I've bene contemplating picking up the ultimate edition. I haven't played any of the expansions yet, and was thinking about nabbing it for 360 (I had the original on PC)

Nono, The Elder Scrolls Anthology:
The Elder Scrolls Arena
The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Tribunal
Bloodmoon
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Knights of the Nine
Shivering Isles
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Dawnguard
Hearthfire
Dragonborn
Five Physical Maps detailing the lands of Tamriel, Iliac Bay, Morrowind, Cyrodiil, and Skyrim.
For the price of one standard retail game.
There's no point buying Skyrim by itself with that puppy on the way.
Re: The Game Deals Thread
Oh... wow. Nice - I had not seen that yet. Going to have to look that up now, lol. Researching it now, it's a September 10th release in the US for $79.99. Should be interestin. The only box art I can find is for a PC version - so my guess at this point is no console release? I'd pick that up for 360 in a heartbeat, but I have most of this on PC already.
Re: The Game Deals Thread
If you didn't pick it up during the Steam sales (which you should have), Steam is selling Dishonoured and all its DLC for 66% off.

No, no console port. The work that would take would be staggering - Arena and Daggerfall were never released on consoles, and Morrowind has never been released on PlayStation.
Re: The Game Deals Thread
Seems like some work would have to be done anyway. I don't think Morrowwind and prior were Vista/win 7 compatible were they?

Well, Arena and Daggerfall certainly weren't, so they would have had to do something there.
I suspect a port to the Xbox 360 would be within reasonable possibility, given the expected sales of a package of old games, since it runs on X86 architecture.
PS3 would be a nightmare though.
Re: The Game Deals Thread
I'd imagine Arena and Daggerfall just use DOSBox like the free copies they've been giving away for years do. DOSBox works with discs, after all.
Re: The Game Deals Thread
Kind of surprised I haven't seen this one yet, but the latest Humble Bundle is pretty solid. Saints Row 2 & 3, Risen 1 & 2, DLC for Saints Row 3... a few other things. Pretty good selection for roughtly $5
Re: The Game Deals Thread
Metro 2033 is in the bundle. Everyone with a capable PC and even the smallest interest in FPS games should get it for that.
Re: The Game Deals Thread
I'd say "grab that" solely for the Risen games. While those two games are very much B-grade RPGs, they are RPGs that take place in unique (and quite compelling) settings. I enjoyed my time with Risen 2, especially, a lot.
Re: The Game Deals Thread
If you're a Rayman fan or want an excuse to get into the series, the games are discounted on PSN (particularly if you have Plus). Here's a handy chart:
Re: The Game Deals Thread
I have never experienced this Rayman Arena thing. Time to remedy I think, good find!
Re: The Game Deals Thread
Some massive savings for our American friends on Vita PSN this week:

Soul Sacrifice, Totori and Silent Hill Book of Memories are all absolute steals at those prices.
