Game Journal

Games... games... tough 'problem' to have, but too many games. I spent a bit of my holiday break working through NBA 2k14 and my franchise in Madden 25 with a buddy. I also got Call of Duty: Ghosts for my son and the two of us played a pretty hefty amount of that online. Beyond that I recently started it on Don't Starve, spent time with Mario World on my 3DS, got more time in on Agarest War 2 on my PS3, Lego Marvel on the Xbox One, Monster Hunter on the Wii U and Forza 5 and Peggle 2 for Xbox One.

Thanks to a certain Kickstarter I've not had much time for games... but I am playing Assassin's Creed Liberation HD for a review on the site and what can I say? I love Aveline. Such a great character.

Kinda sad she's just a bit player and not the headline act in the AC universe.

Yeah, I can see where that Kickstarter thing would get in the way. I'm back from Florida (spoiler alert - WAY flippin' warmer there than here in Michigan), so I'm picking up a few games like Walking Dead and some review titles coming up shortly. While I was gone I did get to play some Vita while on my flight, sinking a good deal of time into a variety of games (Sine Mora, Disgaea 3, Machinarium, Hotline Miami and BlazBlue).

So a few more things I have been poking at - Sonic's Genesis Collection on PS3, Blackguards and Final Fantasy XIV.

Really, I leave for a month and this whole place kind of just dies?

Anyways, I played Bravely Default for 60 hours and then got bored because I'm only near the end of Chapter 4 and 60 hours is my limit for even the best games out there...that aren't Pokemon.

Then I played the first Worlds of the Donkey Kong Country Trilogy. I never liked these games before, but now I'm really digging them.

Then I played Banjo-Kazooie almost to completion, but got stuck on the final boss. I think I need to get 6 more Jiggies. What a Pain...I love this game (and used to hate it before) but 4 of the last 6 are really annoying to get. I was really happy I didn't have to get them to get to the boss.

Then I played Batman: Arkham Asylum. Not sure how far I got, but it was like 20% complete or something. It's a really good game, but after a while I wanted to do something else.

So then I played Donkey Kong 64. This feels really weird coming so soon off of Banjo-Kazooie, so I gave that a rest after 10 Golden Bananas.

Now I'm struggling to think of something to play...

Bravely Default is one I'm still working on. I'm only about 25 hours into it - about halfway through chapter 3. Thoroughly enjoying it.

I've also been poking at a pretty wide variety of games lately: Castlevania 2, Toukiden, South Park and Titan Fall.
