Favourite 3DS Virtual Console game?
The 3DS Virtual Console has been around for a while now, and while game releases are slowing down, there's a mass of quality games from the NES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Gear platforms on there to buy.
So for people with 3DS' - what are some of your favourites so far? And indeed, is there anything you're looking forward to getting a potential release?
For me, Harvest Moon is my favourite release - I loved this back on the Game Boy Color and I've suck around 30 hours into the 3DS game already. It's the most uncomplicated Harvest Moon game of all - it's all about the farming - and I love it for that.
Of the games I got to "discover" for the first time with the Virtual Console, I'm going to go with Trip World (so cute!) and Sword of Hope II, which is a neat old-school JRPG.
As for games I'd like to see; give me the Final Fantasy Legends trilogy and I'll be a very happy man.
Also, Warlocked. Weirdly, of all the RTS games I've played, multiplayer Warlocked is possibly my most played of all. It only has two units and a couple of wizards! So uncomplicated, but in that there's some surprising strategy to be had.
And finally, Heroes of Might & Magic on the Game Boy Color was a superb port and the 3DS needs more strategy games. Might as well get the back catalogue of them up there

Re: Favourite 3DS Virtual Console game?
Here are a few faves off the top of my head:
Any Game Boy Colour Zelda game - I honestly don't care which, but I'd probably pick Link's Awakening DX as number one due to nostalgia and my frivolous desire to swap tunics. Definitely glad I got to play the Oracle games for the first time though.
Avenging Spirit - Another new game for me. It's not the greatest by any means but the body-switching mechanic and the diverse abilities of each host were novel enough for me to replay it and seek out the best ending.
Mega Man 2 - I'm hard-pressed to think of a more replayable platformer on the system. While it still has archaic design choices, the soundtrack always gets me giddy enough to disregard them.
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine - Played the ever-loving crap out of the Mega Drive version but never got to try this one properly. It's slightly less robust, but it's still portable Puyo Puyo on 3DS so...
Other puzzle games of note include Yoshi, Catrap, and Kirby's Star Stacker.
For stuff I want to see: Survival Kids, more Game Boy Mega Man games, Tetris Attack, and Crystalis. Maybe the original Pokemon games too (if only to re-experience how horrifyingly broken they are today). If we ever get more GBA games, I'll take Rekka no Ken and a translated (hah) Fuin no Tsurugi.

Some of mine:
Donkey Kong (1994) - One of the best platforming games on the series, and as a kid I was blown away after the game opened up from the original Donkey Kong Arcade levels. So good. Everyone should check this one out.
Zelda Link's Awakening/Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons - Link's Awakening DX is amazing. The Capcom games are great too!
Mega Man 2 and 3 - I am starting to like Mega Man 3 a bit more, but both games are well crafted.
Shantae - Not a perfect game, but interesting and colorful. Love the different layers you switch in and out of.

Mario Golf is one of my favorites, its simple golf, but very tricky at the same time with some Nintendo and Camelot charm mixed in~
Wario Land Super Mario Land 3 is an amazing platformer, although I only own the original, it's still good enough where I play it today.
As for a game I'd want released, either give me some classic TMNT action, and as a really long stretch, Rhythm Tegnoku (not sure on the spelling there) the Rhythm Heaven GBA game only released in Japan.
...That may be too large of a stretch though.

Been thinking about getting Mario Golf for the 3DS VC. And since World Tour is delayed until 2014, I need some alternative form of golf to tide me over.

My favorites are:
-Super Mario Land
-Wario Land
-Shinobi
-Zelda Link's Awakening
Now if only they released some GBA games for those who were unfortunate not to get ambassador status..

I only have 5 VC games, but I love them all. I guess my favorite right now is Shining Force II: Sword of Hajya.

I really liked that one too - never had a Game Gear, so I was glad I was able to discover it (and Defenders of Oasis)
Re: Favourite 3DS Virtual Console game?
3D Classics: Kid Icarus. Loved it so much.
Also Mega Man and Mega Man II Haven't finished either of those yet.

Did you pick up the Game Boy Kid Icarus game? For some reason of the whole Kid Icarus series, that's the one I've played the most.KiDasharus wrote:3D Classics: Kid Icarus. Loved it so much.

Perhaps because I have an unhealthy obsession with the Game Boy's style of monochrome. I was building an RPG in RPG Maker that looked like it before my laptop died.
Re: Favourite 3DS Virtual Console game?
MattS - Yep, got that recently. Haven't played it much, solely because of all other games I got recently too(and Animal Crossing, lol). Before too long I'll probably start working on that and the Oracles though.

I'd be interested in hearing how you think it stacks up to the others, as an Icarus fan.KiDasharus wrote:MattS - Yep, got that recently. Re: Favourite 3DS Virtual Console game?
I don't have a lot of VC games on my 3DS. I've nabbed a handful of the 3D remakes, and out of them Kid Icarus was probably my favorite.
