Non-game... stuff
I was just wondering if anyone else out there goes and buys non-game stuff; collectibles, books and that kinda stuff.
I've got a shelf at home filled with art books (my favourites being my two Atelier art books, as well as my Fire Emblem and Monster Monpiece ones), and a few random miniatures.
I've also got a couple of business books on various aspects of game development and game developers. The one about localisation is really interesting, as is Gamers at Work - which is interviews with some of the most experienced game entrepreneurs.

Not as much as I used to. I have a pretty good-sized movie collection, and my wife and I both used to be very big readers. We have 3 book shelves (I mean 6 foot tall sets of shelves, not a single-lined row a few feet wide. So hundreds per shelf, not a dozen or so) in my den that are double-lined with books, and we have probably read about 85% of them, but I haven't purchased a new one in some time. Every now and then my kids will get me a cool art book for The Hobbit or realms of TSR - things like that. Most of my book collection is fantasy and sci-fi. I think I have just about every forgotten realms, ravenloft and dragonlance book ever.
Now my most heavily 'collected' item is fantasy nicknacks. Pewter dragons, a couple daggers and a sword, lots of wizards and fairies. Probably my coolest recent edition was a 3D chess board. It's pretty cool - I have a layer of glass a few inches above a 'battlefield' of broken bodies and weapons. The 'black' square are actually transparent glass.

That's an awesome looking chess set! I used to play chess competitively, and while we can't use these kinds of sets in tournaments, I would love to have one of these for a coffee table.

We really gotta get a DDNet chess championship going... So many of us are players.
That is a seriously awesome chess set, Nick.

I have a big collection of Tranformers jeje. I have over a 100 of them. I got them when I was a kid but I never got rid of them, now they are all around my room. I also have a few miniatures from games and anime and that's it, cough and some ero figures cough. Soo, I also have a huge collection of manga. I've been buying them for years.
Nice chess set by the way.
