So the Vita Finally Got That Price Drop...
...so you gonna buy it now? If you already have one, you think it'll attract more people who will, you know, buy it? Any other thoughts?

I already had one, but a lower price pointcertainly can't hurt. I do have one co-worker who said this combined with the dorp in price cards will probably be reason enough for him to pick one up.
Re: So the Vita Finally Got That Price Drop...
Just in time for Killzone, too. Sony's doing the right thing with that console. Might never hit the 3DS numbers, but the reports of the Vita's death have been greatly exaggerated.
Cookie for getting that reference.
Cookie for getting that reference.
Re: So the Vita Finally Got That Price Drop...
Also note that apparently Minecraft is heading to Vita and will be the best thing ever.
Re: So the Vita Finally Got That Price Drop...
I've already got one as well but I am interested in the Memory Card price drops. Still not "ideal" pricing in my mind but at least I can stop delaying that 32GB purchase now.

Yeah, I've now got reason to buy a second one, lol.Midori wrote:I've already got one as well but I am interested in the Memory Card price drops. Still not "ideal" pricing in my mind but at least I can stop delaying that 32GB purchase now.
Sony should release a 64GB memory card. I don't care if it costs $200. It would be so much more convenient
Re: So the Vita Finally Got That Price Drop...
LOL @ Matt - I can't really disagree. I bought a 32 GB card when I first got my Vita, and it only has like 3 gigs left at this point.
Re: So the Vita Finally Got That Price Drop...
I will be picking mine up tomorrow, after my paycheck comes through. Probably gonna order a 16 GB memory card (to start, may upgrade if need be) and a case off Amazon.
Re: So the Vita Finally Got That Price Drop...
$100 price drop sounds nice for me but I wonder how that will affect the Vita's profitability. Doubt it will trump the 3DS in other regions but as for me, will definitely pick one up in the holidays along with Tearaway and Gravy Rush and a slew of indie games and PSN plus freebies.

Hopefully that price drop will finally give all of those people complaining about the price a reason to finally get a Vita. I'm happy for the memory card price drop, I have 3 16gb and a 4gb and it sucks to have so many, I agree with a 64gb.
Not just that but Borderlands 2 for the vita. Now that was a surprise for me, that's the only first person shooter I care about. And Minecraft too, that's going to be awesome on the Vita. Now we only need more localization like the Tales games for the Vita. Here's a petition if you care about Tales of Hearts and Innocence.

Hardware doesn't matter all that much for the profitability of a console. It's software and licensing where companies like Sony make their money, and the more Vitas out there, regardless of how much they cost, the more money Sony makes from those critical products.$100 price drop sounds nice for me but I wonder how that will affect the Vita's profitability. It's really impressive to see the ports to the Vita, though I must admit that I would prefer to hear more about original software - who's going to go out and buy a Vita to play a game they already own?Astor M wrote:Hopefully that price drop will finally give all of those people complaining about the price a reason to finally get a Vita. Everyone who bought the 3DS for Ocarina of Time says hi :pIt's really impressive to see the ports to the Vita, though I must admit that I would prefer to hear more about original software - who's going to go out and buy a Vita to play a game they already own?
anyway, Sony's driving the Vita harder and harder lately. It's getting much more difficult to resist the temptation to get one...

Honestly, Gravity Rush and P4G completely justify my Vita purchase.

But get a Vita, you won't regret it. Great little console, with great games. Get a PSPlus membership while you're at it so you won't have to but many other games afterwards, and yet still fill up that memory card ;-)
Re: So the Vita Finally Got That Price Drop...
I have been on the fence for awhile now and that price drop makes it even more tempting. Maybe I will pick on up this holiday season after I see if and what kind of bundles they come out with.

Re: So the Vita Finally Got That Price Drop...
I like my 3DS, but the Vita is superior in pretty much every way, IMO. The library of games is improving as well, and seeing Sony so invested in it can only be seen as a good thing by those of us who have it.
