Tales of Xillia

So Matt will be happy. A copy of Tales of Xillia came in, so I'm gonna be reviewing it for another site. Thing is, this is my first JRPG I'm going to play and beat. Any suggestions/warnings before I jump in? I heard this is a good starter JRPG, which is nice to hear.

I think Tales of Xillia won't be a bad start because the gameplay is not turn based and I know a lot of people who dislike JRPG's because of that. And it is a beutifull game, I'm five hours in and i'm loving it. The story is charming yet serious and interesting. I'm sure you'll like it. Put the link of you're review later if you want so I can know how you liked it.

I haven't had a chance to play this one, but if you're serious about 'first JRPG' - patience is what comes to mind for me. A lot of times battles in JRPGs can bug people who dislike grinding, but almost always it is important to getting your stats up for later game encounters.
