I definitely was not surprised by Persona 4 Golden's win. That game thoroughly impressed me this year when I played it.

I must admit I am slightly disappointed that Attack of the Friday Monsters and Pandora's Tower didn't get there in the end - both games were genuinely unique experiences, rather than being simply one of the best JRPG narratives ever.
Not that I'm really complaining about Persona 4 winning either

I'll be honest here, despite all the respect I have for Nnooo and what they're doing for the Australian industry, I did not care at all for Escapevektor. It just didn't click with me, as much as I tried.
I'm satisfied that this year has been good financially for Aussie devs with games like Antichamber, Game Dev Tycoon and Towncraft lighting up their respective stores' homepages, although I feel that we didn't offer quite as much as we did in previous years. Here's hoping that 2014 sees more Australian-made experiences!

Best visuals award: http://www.digitallydownloaded.net/2013/11/ddnets-games-of-year-2013-best-visual.html
Arthouse game of the year: http://www.digitallydownloaded.net/2013/11/ddnets-games-of-year-2013-arthouse-game.html
It makes me happy to see Attack of the Friday Monsters tracking so well. Did not expect to see Killer is Dead win best arthouse game.
