Oh dear, why did Microsoft let this out of the bag?

The reality is that "ads" doesn't need to be a dirty word any more. We're getting advertised at a rate more than ever before but in ways that are increasingly less intrusive, or at least less annoying because ads are increasingly tailored towards what we want to see ads for anyway.
But at a time when the Xbox One is only just recoving from a PR point of view after a disasterous unveiling... Why oh why do this interview?

Actually, this doesn't surprise me. It annoys me, since I have more difficulty ignoring ads than a lot of other people, so I do my best to simply avoid them...something I could never do on the 360, which has more space for ads than any other console, and half the time they aren't really game-related ads. Of course Microsoft wants to cater more to advertisors, and of course they want to improve and enlarge their advertising space. At this point it really should be expected.
