It was bound to happen guys. I join the forums for not even a day and you see a Metal Gear topic. It may be predictable but what did you expect? (I'm not very original, lol.)

If you haven't heard, Metal Gear Solid is the best game ever created evereverever.  Okay not really, but that's my opinion on the matter. If you haven't played it before and you own a PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Playstation Portable, PlayStation Vita, a Nintendo Gamecube, and/or a Nintendo Wii, I highly encourage you to save up some dough and order a copy of it. It's that incredible.

Lastly, this is a topic for everything Metal Gear. So don't feel limited about anything and discuss everything! Smile

Sweet, love Metal Gear. Big fan here.

So who's picking up the Legacy Collection? I already own all the games in it but the packaging is too good to give up. This will mark my 3rd copy of MGS1, my 4th copy of MGS2, my 5th(?) copy of MGS3, my 2nd copy of MGS4 (my first copy is signed by Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa), my 4th or 5th copies of the original Metal Gear games, and my 3rd copy of Peace Walker.

Can't wait.

I know I am, Shaan.

After I pick up two copies of the LC (I'm not counting the second copy), I'll have six copies of MGS1, five copies of MGS2, three copies of MGS3, two copies of MGS4, four copies of each Metal Gear (NES) installment, and my second copy of PW.

I love Kojima.

Same here. His insane style of games is right up my alley.

I've only ever played Guns for the PS3 - it was fun, but didn't convince me to fall in love with the series. I played the original Metal Gear and Solid Snake titles on the NES a bazillion years ago. Does that count?

I have about every console you've listed there and a mild interest in starting the series that dates several years back, but I've never actually gotten around to playing more than 30 minutes of Solid on PS1. One of these days...

Just pick up the Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection. It launches July 9th for the PS3, and retails for $49.99. You get:

- Metal Gear Solid (as a download code)
- Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions (as a download code)
- Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition
- Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Edition (includes Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake)
- Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition
- Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition
- Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel
- Metal Gear Solid 2: Digital Graphic Novel
- Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Book (100 page illustrated art book showcasing each game)

And those games average like 92 or 93 on Metacritic. These are some stellar titles you'd be getting. And while it doesn't include Portable Ops, you can totally skip that game (if you really want, just read a synopsis of it) and you can play the entire series (or most of it) in one go!

Well dang, can't pass that up then. Hadn't heard anything about this particular collection as I assumed it was related to the other one that came out fairly recently so thanks for shedding some light on it. I guess it pays to wait too. Smile
