Physical or Digital games?
So, I was thinking........
I like collecting games and putting them in my shelve. I have a massive collection of games from different consoles. But recently I've been getting a lot of digital games. Mostly because of PS Plus and some other deals. But in the end I have spend a lot of money in two memory cards for the Vita (a 32g and a 16 g) and I ended up deleting some games from my PS3 because I don't have memory!
However, is better to carry two memory stick than hanging around with a bunch of games!
While I agree that digital has some benefits, I still think physical games are better. But let me know what you think. Do you agree? Or do you prefer digital games?

Re: Physical or Digital games?
I hear you on the deleting - I have around 300 digital games between the Vita and PS3, and only around 30-40 actually stored at any one time. I wish Sony would have a better "library" interface than having to cycle through purchases when I want to redownload an old game...BaioS wrote:So, I was thinking........

I don't really have the physical space for retail games any more, so I tend to go with Digital whereever possible. I'm really hoping this Cloud gaming thing takes off to the point where I don't actually need hard drives any more as well.

Speaking of guides - I do tend to buy those for the games I really like, as these days they're nice hardcover books with great art work and ususally interviews with the developers and stuff - stuff to make them worth going to for fans beyond just a GameFAQs writeup.KiDasharus wrote:I get physical whenever possible. I love my box art and guides <3
I've just recently got Ni No Kuni, Mass Effect 2 and FFXIII-2 guides. I also tend to buy them after I've finished the game, so I don't feel tempted to spoil it, haha.
Re: Physical or Digital games?
It depends on the price. If I can get a good deal digital, I go with that, but otherwise it's usually better to go physical.
Re: Physical or Digital games?
I take into account the game's download size, retail availability, and sentimental value.
For one specific example, I wanted a physical copy of Fire Emblem Awakening and went to about 10-15 stores throughout multiple days to find one. There were none anywhere so I just went digital and it turned out to be a decent decision since the game's file size was fairly small and got regularly booted up (another digital convenience). Had it been like 20GB though, the bandwidth impact would not have been worth the instant availability. If it were a more nostalgic franchise, I would have kept searching or learn to pre-order.

Well since I am a collector I like having a physical copy. Although I do buy digital if a good deal is offered like on XBLA for example.

Re: Physical or Digital games?
I almost always go with physical copies, unless it's a heavily discounted (or press) digital copy. It's a damn shame Ace Attorney 5 is set to be digital only, but maybe that campaign will change Capcom's mind.
Re: Physical or Digital games?
I definitely lean toward physical. Loan it to a friend, trade/sell it when I'm done, I like collectibles if they come with, and I don't have to worry about my bandwidth or HD usage.
