PSPlus members: What's the best "freebie" you've got to date?
Anyone who has PSPlus knows it's good value - and getting better. Games that are less hand six months old are now being given away on the service, and if you've got a Vita, it's free Vita games as well!
So what are some of the finest freebies that you've downloaded so far?
For me there's a couple of memorable ones: Red Dead Redemption (I don't buy Rockstar games as a rule of thumb, but can't really complain about a open-world game of that standard for free), Ico and Shadows HD (played them on PS2. So glad I got them on PS3 in HD).
Over on the Vita I was glad to get a chance to play Unit 13, Uncharted and Sine Mora. None of which are games in genres I usually get much out of, but as freebies, I can hardly complain.
I would have listed games like XCOM and Dead or Alive 5 but... I already had those games.

Just got PS+, and the fact that it came with XCOM and Saints Row 3 was pretty awesome, not to mention Uncharted 3, despite it's hefty file size.
I'll go with XCOM I guess.

I must admit I'm rather glad that is the case - I prefer the EU PSPlus to the US one.
I just downloaded Spec Ops. Let's see how this goes.

I'm not usually a shooter fan, so I tend to ignore those games when they come up on PSN (Still haven't got around to playing Battlefield 3 freebie, lol). But I have heard that Spec Ops is something special thanks to its narrative and more serious themes. I like the sound of that.jim269 wrote:spec ops the line? its a decent game hope you like itMattS wrote:I must admit I'm rather glad that is the case - I prefer the EU PSPlus to the US one.jim269 wrote:you know that the USA plus get different games then you do there Matt? im going with warhammer space marine as i never played it before...and from the sounds of things plus is way better over there Matt we never got games like Dead or Alive 5 or Sine Mora or Unit 13 or Ico and Shadows HD or even Red Dead

It's interesting to see how different the PS+ plans are, isn't it? For my Vita, probably Gravity Rush and Uncharted. For my PSP, probably Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions. For my PS3? Oh man... there have been a lot. My son really enjoyed Sleeping Dogs and the newest Hitman that just came out for it. Spec Ops was okay - not my favorite, but solid. Battlefield 3 would have been awesome, but I already had that one.
Probably my favorites would be inFamous 2, Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One and Vanquish. I just installed XCOM the other day - I've been wanting to play that one, so I'm pretty excited about it.

So far, Disgaea 3 and Gravity Rush for the Vita have been the best for me.

Disgaea 3 was a Plus freebie in the US? Wow that is just awesome.Astor M wrote:So far, Disgaea 3 and Gravity Rush for the Vita have been the best for me.
Possibly the biggest freebie in terms of raw time? I think I clocked over 150 hours on that game and still wasn't done.
The only game that comes close is Amalur - you could probably spend 100 hours in that game too.
Re: PSPlus members: What's the best "freebie" you've got to date?
Actually, I think I've played only one PS3 PS+ Free game more than once. No wonder I'm cancelling my subscription in November...
Re: PSPlus members: What's the best "freebie" you've got to date?
I still need to sink a couple of months into the Disgaea games. I have 3 for ps3 and vita, and 4. Games I have sunk about the most time into... Amular was one, Agarest War and Zero were big ones too. Persona 4 Golden was around 110 hours in total I think as well.MattS wrote:Disgaea 3 was a Plus freebie in the US? Huh. Just not the types of games you are interested in, or ones you already have? that's been my problem w/ Microsoft's game freebies - I have them all.CanisWolfred wrote:Actually, I think I've played only one PS3 PS+ Free game more than once. No wonder I'm cancelling my subscription in November...
I have gotten a TON of mileage out of the PS+ though, which is probably why I didn't mind when it was 'required' for online on PS4 - I've had it pretty much non-stop for the last year and a half or so anyway.
Re: PSPlus members: What's the best "freebie" you've got to date?
Yeah, most of them aren't my Bag, unless I already got them. XCOM's great, but I'm rarely in a mood for a Strategy game. inFamous 2 is honestly the best one I've gotten, surprisingly.Chalgyr wrote:Huh. Re: PSPlus members: What's the best "freebie" you've got to date?
Wasn't Infamous 2 one of the games that was an apology for the PlayStation hack, rather than a PSPlus freebie?
Or am I just getting confused?

I must have played the first, and never got around to trying the second. My PSPlus backlog is pretty extensive.

Infamous 2 was a ps+ freebie. The first infamous was one of the welcome-back rewards.
