Goldeneye
Anybody found a shooter to match this N64 classic?
If so, which one and why?
I loved the original. From the great level design (library was fantastic), the varied weapons (RPG and AK47 were favourites), the contorted rage from my opponents victimised by the odd job slap attack, the multiplayer madness, the Sean bean character's digital death, the music - all round it was a fantastic game
I am yet to be blown away by a game at the same level
Any recommendations?

The thing is, Goldeneye's greatest asset was its local multiplayer, which most developers ignore now. The remake on the Wii (and by extension Wii U) is good value, but other than that? Nothing, sadly. Multiplayer has moved online
Mind you I did prefer Perfect Dark to Goldeneye. It had bots, see.
Re: Goldeneye
Perfect Dark is the only Rare game that I thought was Okay, which puts it above Goldeneye for sure. So yeah, that. Most other shooters I've played are far more enjoyable than both those games, though.
Re: Goldeneye
Tough to match Golden Eye for me in terms of nostalgia - that and Mario Kart 64 were pretty much the primary 2 games we played back in collect. Madden got some love, as did D&D and Magic: the gathering for tabletop stuff - but Golden Eye and Mario Kart were awesome for getting the group together competitively.
